4 male strippers from Florida detained in BVI

TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands (AP) — Four male strippers from Florida have pleaded guilty to illegal entry into the British Virgin Islands.
The Fort Lauderdale men have acknowledged being in the British Caribbean territory illegally but yesterday they told a judge that local promoter Denise Stanley had deceived them.
They assert that Stanley assured them she had made the proper arrangements with immigration officials even after work permits were denied for the group.
Andre Baker, Reginald Billings, Asa Ambrister and Alesian Rolle were hired to dance at a territory hotel on Friday. They were arrested the next day on the main island of Tortola.
They face a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine each or a year in jail. Sentencing is scheduled today.
Stanley faces charges of harbouring illegal immigrants.
